Product Review: Colgate Active Salt Toothpaste, Palmolive Naturals Body Wash WHITE + Milk and More

To be honest, I have never been a fan of the Palmolive brand when it comes to hair and skincare products. Do not worry, it is not for some negative reason but it is just that I have never tried them before.
Every time we go grocery shopping, I see Palmolive products in most personal care aisles but I would simply pick other brands--I need not mention them. That is why I felt so unworthy when I was chosen by Lazada to receive a gift-pack from Colgate-Palmolive.
But hey! On the bright side, why not? After all the purpose of giving away gift packs is to promote a brand and reach out to other consumers. In this case, I am one of those prospective consumers.
Before I move on, let me stress that, all though these products were sent to me for free the opinion or review I wrote here is based on my own personal experience with the product. I was not paid by Colgate-Palmolive nor Lazada to write this. However, this post contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a little something.
And to my readers, my apologies if this post seems a little over due but I wanted to use the products that were sent to me for at least two weeks so I could express a real and honest opinion about them.
So far, as a first time user, I was amazed that these products are as wonderful as the ones that I have been using for many, many years, not to mention that they are also as affordable.
So, without further ado, the goodies that came in the gift pack were:
- Colgate Active Salt Toothpaste 180g
- Pink Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner 180 ml (for dry/coarse hair)
- Pink Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Cream Conditioner 180 ml (for dry/coarse hair)
- Green Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner 180 ml (for normal hair)
- Green Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Cream Conditioner 180 ml (for normal hair)
- Palmolive Naturals Body Wash WHITE + Milk 200 ml
- Palmolive Naturals Body Soap WHITE + Milk 80g
The goodies came inside a red and white tote bag, inside a box that was delivered by LBC within 3 days after I was notified of this surprise. Take note that they sent me full sizes and not itsy bitsy sample sizes. Meaning, they are the same as those that are sold in stores across the Philippines.
Colgate Active Salt Toothpaste
Colgate is a well known brand here in the Philippines. It comes in different varieties and some of which are a bit pricier than others. This Colgate Active Salt toothpaste was launched not so long ago.
I have always preferred Colgate when it comes to toothpaste but I have been ignoring this newbie because i prefer Colgate Total or Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection. This is my first time to try Active Salt. So far, for me, its okay. However, I find it less minty and it is has a slight salty taste. My husband says he likes it while the kids find it just okay. Me, personally, I really do not know yet whether I like it or not.

Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner and Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Cream Conditioner For Dry/Coarse Hair
This is the one that is colored pink. Both shampoo and cream conditioner are formulated with coconut cream and milk protein extracts. What I like about these two is that, true to their claim, they both have a sweet fragrance that lasts through the day even when it is humid outside and you are sweating a lot.
I have bleached, ermmmm damaged hair, and surprisingly it works good enough. Take note, however, that it is not sulfate-free so it will not spare you from brassy hair. Needless to say, it makes my hair feel smoother and more hydrated so I am giving this pair a thumbs up. If you want to try the cream conditioner click HERE.

Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner and Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Cream Conditioner For Normal Hair
This pair, on the other hand, smells milder. It also has a long lasting scent. It does not do much for my brittle hair but my daughter says she likes it. This variety has aloe vera and vitamin extracts. I do not use the shampoo but on other days that I use conditioner alone, the conditioner is good enough to make my hair feel more hydrated and less frizzy. Palmolive Naturals WHITE + Milk Body Wash and Palmolive Naturals WHITE + Milk Body Soap
To my surprise, I fell in love with these two products. I have always been an avid fan of this certain bath soap brand and I never believed in whitening beauty soaps and body washes. Before using these two products, I thought it is going to be just like any other bath product.
What I hate about beauty bars is that they feel slippery when wet so they easily slip off your hand. It also feels a bit hard to rinse off because of the moisturizers that they contain. I was surprised that unlike other whitening soaps this one does not get so mushy and slimy while it is wet and it goes a long way, unlike other brands. It also has a very nice smell that is long lasting. So I give the soap a thumbs up.
Moving on, I must be honest that this is my first time to use a body wash. I have always felt that products like these do not really make so much difference when compared to soaps. I tried this one anyway and there I discovered there is indeed something special about body washes, otherwise why would manufacturers make them? I love the long lasting scent. I have not tried other brands so I cannot compare. Nevertheless, I like this one because it makes my skin feels super soft.
Conclusion:
To summarize this super looooong post, I want to say that I am pleased with these products. My most favorite is Palmolive's WHITE + Milk body wash. Surely, I will buy this product after this one runs out. On the other hand, I must admit that I gave the hair care products to my kids because like I said earlier I have very damaged hair so I need to use this other brand, not to mention that I also need those "other" products to maintain my platinum/silver mane. I wish Palmolive would come up with a "purple shampoo/conditioner" one day. The toothpaste is OK but I want to wait until I finish the entire tube to really give it a fair judgement.
