I am one of the many women who are struggling in terms of keeping eyeliner looking neat for hours. I have oily eyelids and I have hooded eyes, which means eyeliner is likely to smudge and budge right after i put it on.

I know there are a lot of techniques to keep eyeliner in place for a long time, from applying primers to eyeshadow, etc. I have tried them as well but add a little sweat to my oily eyelids and my eyemakeup is a mess.

I have tried many products that promise "long lasting wear" but in the end I always up tossing them into the waste bin out of frustration. They can't keep the cat-eye look to stay on my eyelids for at least one hour.  And then I found Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner.

So what is a gel liner, anyway?

A gel liner usually comes in a small jar or pot. You apply it on your eyelids using fine tip brush. Its gel formulation makes it apply or glide easily and set easily. 

This product from Maybelline promises intense eyeliner drama in gel form that glides easily. It also says it is long-lasting for up to
36 HOURS. It also claims to be waterproof and smudge proof.

Okay...

Available in brown and black colors, it was on sale when I found it on SM Department Store. I smiled as the the sales said the price had been slashed to P299 (roughly $6) instead of P399. I decided to give it a try.

Easy to apply?

Yes, surprisingly. It is easier to apply that those pen types with felt tips. I have one and I seldom use it because and I will not be using it anymore because I now prefer this gel liner from Maybelline. 



For this review I decided to wear nothing else but the gel liner (and my eyebrow makeup, of course. I look like I am sick if I don 't fill in my eyebrows)

I often apply eyeliner thinly because as I have said i always struggled to keep my eye makeup looking neat because of my oily lids.



This is how wearing eyeliner would be like with eyes like mine. 

So you can now picture out how easily eyeliner would smudge on lids. 

So I waited for four hours...


I am happy to find out after four ours that the eyeliner is still in tack. WOW! Finally.

Long Wearing and Waterproof?

It was not as perfect as it was after I put it on but it is still in one place and it did not transfer to my upper eyelids. YEY!!! 

And I waited for a couple of hours more. No make up, no powder no primer... Then I did my usual work out session. It was my first time to purposely keep my eyeliner and while exercising. I wanted to see if the gel would really last long...

Pardon the sweaty look as you can see my "eyebrow" is gone now HAHA. But i was extremely happy that the gel is still were it should be. and it did not transfer or smudge.

YES! I found the eyeliner I have been looking for.

And I will be bringing this Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner with me on our trip to Boracay this month
